Why do you need a registered surveyor?
Only Registered Surveyors have the legal right to set the boundaries of subdivisions as per the Surveying Act. Once all the necessary marks are in place, the Surveyor makes the subdivision plan and documents any restrictions or easements. These are then submitted to the Land Titles Office. Surveys also uncover issues not easily seen when looking at a property. Hidden problems like structural damage, rot, or roof issues may worsen over time and be costly to fix after moving in.
